[EDITOR’S NOTE]

Hey everyone!

Once again, thank you all for sticking it out with us and being here for the publication of our second issue. It means the world to us that after only a year, we have such a wonderful collection of people who read and submit to our little journal <33. And we’re only a week late this time, so we’re taking that as a victory! When Tyler and I started Fish Barrel a little over a year ago, we never dreamed that we’d have had two successful calls for submissions, over 150 pieces submitted, and over thirty authors represented on our website—but here we are! And we’re so grateful for the opportunity to continue spreading fantastic writing and artwork.

During this pandemic, nothing has kept us in touch with the writing community as much as Fish Barrel. Whether it’s interacting with y’all on Twitter, answering your questions on Instagram, reading all the wonderful work you’ve submitted to us, or just receiving an email from one of you, we’ve felt so connected to the literary world around us! We really couldn’t have done this without that constant support, the reminder that there are so many people out there who love art as much as we do.

So once again, thank you all for sticking with us and helping us welcome this wonderful group of artists into the Barrel. We received an incredible amount of submissions, none alike, but together they form a living, breathing issue of love and joy and heartache and hope. There’s nothing more we could’ve asked for, and we hope this wonderful example of togetherness is one that you’ll all remember as we slowly emerge from this year. Love you guys <33

Peace! Prosperity! Read on!

Best,

The Editors
